Megan O’Connell, a rising star in the public relations world, has joined Garden Media Group, the top lawn and garden PR firm, as an assistant account executive. O’Connell has a passion for both agriculture and horticulture and has always dreamed of building companies’ brands within these industries.

O’Connell graduated from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Communications and a certificate in Special Event Planning.

At Fresno State she worked as a student assistant in the Ag One/Jordan College Development Office where she created and executed social media campaigns and managed events. Her writing skills extend from writing media advisories to blog posts and news releases. She also served as president of Sigma Alpha, a professional agricultural sorority, of which she was a member for four years.

“Megan’s experience literally shows she isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty,” explains Katie Dubow, creative director at Garden Media. “She has raised goats, was a member of Future Farmers of America and president of her agricultural sorority. On top of that, she is poised, organized and creative, all skills that strengthen our team.”

Megan will work alongside the account managers with several of Garden Media’s clients as she continues to expand her expertise in the public relations industry and further her knowledge of social media insights.

“I am eager to dive in and help Garden Media exceed their client’s expectations,” O’Connell says. “It will be great to see what I can contribute to such a distinguished team of people.”

With her past experiences, Dubow says, O’Connell will bring a unique perspective to the team.
