Get ready to celebrate National Knock Out® Rose Day on Friday, May 9, 2025—a vibrant tribute to the rose that has transformed gardens and captured hearts for 25 years.
With nonstop blooms, unbeatable resilience, and effortless beauty, the Knock Out® Rose revolutionized modern gardening. Once seen as high-maintenance and intimidating, roses required constant pruning, feeding, and pest control—until Star® Roses and Plants introduced the Knock Out® Rose in 2000. This groundbreaking variety made rose gardening accessible to beginners and seasoned green thumbs.
“I’m thrilled to see Knock Out® honored with its own day,” says Will Radler, the visionary breeder behind the rose. “May 9th will forever live in my heart as a celebration of how far this plant has come—and how many people it’s helped discover the joy of gardening.”
Thanks to its continuous bloom cycle, disease resistance, and bold, eye-catching colors, the Knock Out® Rose quickly became a must-have in home gardens and professional landscapes. Today, 25 years later, it remains a beloved favorite and a symbol of low-maintenance beauty.
